It is not a new phenomenon, having been used in all sorts of structures going back to Ancient times, but the term was only coined in the 1960s and has been recently gaining popularity.
Biophilic design can be incorporated into interiors in a number of ways, from living walls to planters, but can also be utilised when it comes to furniture. Biophilic furniture can mimic the form, use, colour, and materials of nature.
