Takumi derives inspiration from Japanese craftsmanship, focusing on circularity and minimalism, infused with nostalgic elements. The steel tubes within the structure intertwine, reminiscent of Escher's optical illusions, offering a foundation for personalised and adaptable soft upholstered components.
The name "Takumi" finds its roots in combining two kanji characters, "taku," meaning "skillful," and "mi," translating to "to see." Historically in Japan, "Takumi" describes an individual distinguished for their expertise in craftsmanship and technology. This versatile design is available both with and without armrests, offering a range of fabric choices and a steel frame that can be chrome-plated or painted in various colors. These elements come together to provide sophisticated or vibrant options to cater to diverse tastes and interior styles. The collection represents a seamless fusion of visual elegance and ergonomic support; the steel tubes of the frame intricately interweave, reminiscent of Escher's optical illusions, to support plush upholstered components that can be disassembled and reconfigured to inspire new arrangements.
