Askew Road was once surrounded by orchards and market gardens, providing the City of London with fresh produce. Then there were a few clay brick fields before being swallowed up by the expanding city and becoming the lush, family-friendly area it is today.
This history is reflected in the new bakery design, with exposed brick interiors, generous ceiling heights, and a large glass front. Playful tile details add a pop of color to the recycled plastic display table. Woven furniture, hanging aprons, and wall-mounted cutting boards breathe new life into the space that embraces the tools of the trade.
