How to Capture Natural Beauty with Restaurant Chairs

How to Capture Natural Beauty with Restaurant Chairs

Have you had a busy day? If you are feeling tense and in need of unwinding, we are all guilty of heading to our favourite cafe or restaurant to get a change of scene and find a corner of tranquility.

Natural materials, such as wood, combined with plants in cafe or restaurant interior design, can immediately help us to feel relaxed. The combination of wood furniture and plants is the perfect antidote for today's fast-paced world as it has an instantly calming effect.

When it comes to capturing natural beauty with restaurant chairs, there are 3 questions worth asking yourself if you are an interior designer or architect.

  • What type of wood is right for your café or restaurant? – Ask and Oak are woods that are commonly used in furniture production and can be easily stained to create a range of different effects. Premium wood types include Mahogany, Walnut and Maple and it is less common to create furniture in these premium woods. Premium wood types range in colour from a medium honey colour to deeper and darker shades of brown. A high-end restaurant might select to create a large communal table in premium wood as a centrepiece, however, many wooden chairs are made from Ash or Oak and available in the natural colour of the wood or varnish finishes.
  • What options are available within your budget and timescales? – Natural beauty can be found in a range of restaurant chair budgets. The Bentwood side chair as an example is a popular classic chair design, made of solid beech wood.
  • Is this a chance to source sustainable products only? – do you only want to present sustainable options to your client? How can you best do this? Sustainably produced chairs do not have to be expensive but there are a few things you should look for. The Boston Brownie side chair as an example is made from FSC wood and is also in the economy range.
