The Santos side chair is the prime example of a design that combines functionality and a graceful silhouette. The various elements of the Santos side chair blend together seamlessly to create a striking aesthetic.
The seats, in thin plywood, combine the comfort of an ample surface with the formal and constructive elegance of Swiss design. The arched form of the large back has been gauged to permit interlocking with the seat, in a game of balancing forces of pressure and tension that simulates a micro-work of architecture, while referencing the chairs of the Alpine tradition. Its perforated back and graphic signs maximize the experimentation with the reduction of material, giving rise to an agile seat that is ideal for contract projects.
