Inside Out Contracts has recently had the privilege to work with an exceptionally talented design studio who brought an extraordinary vision to life for the 1878 Club at Dublin's iconic 3Arena. This exclusive private members’ club serves as a sanctuary for music enthusiasts and industry insiders, offering an unrivalled pre- and post-concert experience.

The design concept masterfully blends modernist sophistication with vibrant creativity, drawing inspiration from two pioneering Irish figures, artist Mainie Jellett and designer Eileen Gray. The interior harmonises Jellett’s bold cubist expressions with Gray’s refined modernist style, resulting in a space imbued with tactile luxury and artistic narrative.

The interior features custom-designed furniture supplied by Inside Out Contracts, including the Tub Chair, Catherine Bar Stool, Marshmallow Stool, Alyson Bar Stool, armchairs, and bespoke sofas. These pieces are complemented by tailor-made tables, such as poster tables and unique antique mirror tables with aged brass edging, creating an atmosphere of understated opulence.

Every design detail has been meticulously considered, from the lacquer-inspired coral-hued bar top to bespoke bar-top lighting. The bespoke carpet design echoes Jellett’s expressive cubist art, while Gray’s lacquerwork and iconic Bibendum armchair inspire the dramatic screens and ribbed banquette seating.

A luxurious combination of plush velvets, patterned fabrics, and antique brass accents enhances the interiors, seamlessly blending mid-century glamour with contemporary flair. This space celebrates Irish creativity and craftsmanship, setting a new standard for exclusive venues within the hospitality industry.
