Set in a landscape that has inspired poets and artists for centuries, Douneside House called for a range of furniture that would create a sense of comfort, tradition and serenity within its luxury country hotel walls.
The design had much inspiration to draw from, with the wonderful surroundings of the coastal trails and the Cairngorms National Park.
Upholstery patterns that link the indoors to the outdoors have been used along with deep colours mixed with neutrals for that traditional feel of warmth.
The rooms have been given personality with the range of armchairs to create a feel of cosiness, large tables that infuse a sense of heritage and belonging, and benches that can be moved around for convenience. The Siri bar stool adds a timeless touch to the bar area where a glass of wine or whiskey can be enjoyed.
The design required a flexible furniture set-up for dining and so this has been kept in mind with the side chairs and tables provided.
Both formal and informal spaces are created for fine-dining and a spot of reprieve after a day out in the countryside, as well as sofas, bespoke lounge chairs and Marshmallow stools for a relaxing set-up in the multi-functional lounge.
