Engel Bar and Jang at The Royal Exchange

Step into Engel and Jang at The Royal Exchange, where the glamour of 1920s Berlin meets modern-day London! These two spaces are a perfect blend of hedonism, style, and sophistication, each offering its own distinct vibe while remaining connected through bold design choices. Engel, a German-inspired cocktail bar, channels the opulence of Berlin’s golden era, while Jang brings its own sleek elegance, with subtle touches that tie the two together. Both spaces ooze luxury, with rich textures, daring colours, and plenty of wow-factor.

Housed in a Grade 1-listed building, the design had to be both creative and clever.

The freestanding elements respect the building’s heritage while creating eye-catching interiors. From Engel’s show-stopping polished brass bar and stained-glass lamps to Jang’s chic finishes, red and black marble-tiled flooring links the two, offering a visual feast that keeps you moving from one luxurious setting to the next.

Inside Out Contracts' Contribution

Inside Out Contracts jumped in to help make these stunning spaces even more fabulous with their custom designed furniture. For Engel, they created bespoke deep red banquette seating and plush sofas that not only turn heads but also invite guests to sink into pure comfort. Over at Jang, the seating was designed with the same attention to detail, giving the space a cozy yet sophisticated vibe that perfectly complements its chic, modern aesthetic.

The custom-made seating brings both comfort and style to the forefront, helping to create an unforgettable atmosphere in both Engel and Jang.

The Stunning Result

The end result? Absolute magic! Engel and Jang each have their own unique personalities, but they’re united by luxurious design elements like the rich red carpets and the sleek marble floors. Thanks to the bespoke banquette seating and sofas from Inside Out Contracts design department, these spaces feel plush, inviting, and ready to impress.

Together, Engel and Jang bring the decadence of the past into the present, creating two spaces where style, comfort, and a touch of 1920s flair come together for a truly unforgettable experience.
