This centrally located boutique hotel prides itself on offering guests affordable accommodation with high design values. Inside Out was commissioned to supply furniture for the hotel rooms, as well as to design and produce a number of bespoke pieces.
Hotel rooms have to perform a number of functions, often in limited space, so it is vital that every inch is used carefully and creatively. Inside Out worked closely with the hotel designer to produce detailed CAD drawings in the first instance, setting out our ideas for the style and layout of the furniture.
Once approved, production began for the large number of bespoke sofas, bed benches and headboards, which are all handmade in the UK to order and to high specification.
Our sofa frames are constructed from solid seasoned beechwood, and they are glued, screwed and dowelled to ensure maximum strength and durability. The cushions are supplied with foam that complies with UK fire regulations and is superior quality to cope with contract use.
Cookie armchairs combine aesthetics with comfort and our client choose to upholster these in Blazer fabric, with the legs stained in a grey wood finish. We also supplied a number of Lund Side Chairs, which add a minimalist, Scandi style to interiors, and complement the Italian-designed Milo Chairs that give the hotel’s chic dining room its distinctive, design-led feel.
As so much of the furniture for this project was bespoke, the installation team from Inside Out travelled to the hotel to assemble the furniture on site. Amsterdam is well known for many things, including its tall, narrow and often inaccessible buildings – the Boutique Hotel was no exception and many pieces had to be winched into the hotel via a window lift.
