Nutbutter Dundrum 3

Nutbutter Dundrum

Nutbutter Dundrum is the brand’s third restaurant opening, set along the water in Dundrum Town Centre. With beautiful views across the river, the space was designed to balance a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere with guest comfort and the durability required for a busy, all-day restaurant, allowing customers to return time and again to their favourite table.

Inside Out Contracts worked closely with the wider project team to supply furniture that supports both the visual language of the space and its real-world use. The interior palette is warm and natural, built around earthy tones of terracotta, burnt orange, soft clay pinks and muted ochres. These colours are layered through upholstery, finishes and textures, creating a relaxed, sun-warmed feel that holds its warmth from morning service through to evening.

Rango Chairs are used throughout the main dining areas, bringing comfort and visual softness while maintaining a consistent rhythm across the space. Their timber frames work naturally with the flooring, grounding the interior, while the upholstered seats introduce warmth at eye level. Along the perimeter, upholstered banquette seating adds generosity and encourages longer dwell times, reinforcing the relaxed, wellbeing-led identity of the brand.

Dining tables inside feature Illusion recycled wood table tops paired with Ice Cube steel bases. The Illusion tops combine strips of reclaimed timber in varying profiles, forming a subtle expanding diamond pattern that adds texture and character without dominating the room. The steel bases provide visual lightness and practical flexibility, supporting the operational needs of a high-traffic restaurant.

Externally, the furniture specification shifts to respond to the waterfront setting. Iroko slatted table tops are used across the terrace, selected for their durability and suitability for outdoor use. Their warm, natural tone complements the interior palette while reading cleanly against the water and surrounding architecture. The result is an outdoor area that feels intentionally connected to the restaurant inside, rather than treated as a separate zone.

Together, the furniture helps define each area of Nutbutter Dundrum while allowing the space to flow naturally from inside to out. The finished restaurant feels calm, cohesive and easy to occupy — with furniture design playing a quiet but essential role in shaping comfort, atmosphere and everyday performance.
