When Techspace contacted us at Inside Out Contracts, we jumped at the chance to help them design something truly special for their workspace. Techspace is part of the growing trend of flexible workspaces, and they wanted their reception area to be functional, stylish, and welcoming—while also reflecting their love for biophilic design (making spaces feel more connected to nature).

We started with a visit to their site to get a feel for the space and requirements. One of our talented professionals, quickly sketched up a plan that fit perfectly with their needs and vision. After a few tweaks to keep everything on budget, we got the green light.

From there, it was all about working closely with their in-house team to pick the finishes and ensure the design complemented their existing aesthetic.

The Design

Let’s talk about the banquette seating—it’s the star of the show here. We designed bespoke furniture that blends beautifully into the space, complete with built-in planters. These not only add a lush, green vibe but also help create a calm and relaxing atmosphere for anyone walking through. It’s all part of Techspace’s biophilic philosophy, which prioritises natural elements to create a relaxing space to work.

Here’s what makes this seating so special:

• Integrated Greenery. The planters were a must-have. They break up the seating, create natural barriers, and add a pop of life to the reception area.
• Thoughtfully Chosen Finishes. The upholstery that was chosen is called Pesto and brings in soft, earthy green tones that tie in with the plants and the rest of the room. Let’s not forget the solid wood frame—it’s built to last, even with a high footfall every day. Meanwhile, on the straight banquette, the sturdy black metal legs give the whole piece a modern, minimalist edge.
• Perfect for Interacting or focusing. Whether someone’s stopping by for a chat, waiting for a meeting, or just grabbing a quiet moment, the banquette is designed to be versatile and welcoming.

The Results

The finished seating has transformed Techspace’s reception. It’s practical, stylish, and just a little bit luxurious—without feeling over the top. The green tones and built-in planters make it feel fresh and vibrant, while the durable materials mean it’ll handle the hustle and bustle of daily life without breaking a sweat.
