After three successful projects in St Albans, Beaconsfield and Wallingford, Oakman Inns and design company People In Space, enlisted Inside Out once more to assist with their refurbishment of The Akeman Inn in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. The Akeman is located in a former disused farmhouse and provides the perfect canvas for an interior that features a contemporary design edge, offering elegance and style with homeliness and comfort. The result is a warm and friendly meeting place, serving great food and drink all day to local people, businesses, families and visitors.
For the interior design of this venue, every piece was carefully selected to create a consistent aesthetic. The Caddie Chair and the Lourdes Chair are the two dominating key pieces, as well as the classic Vienna arm chair. Stained to a dark walnut brown and upholstered in deep red and forest green leather they set the cosy, warm tone for the restaurant. The chairs were matched with bespoke table tops, treated to bear a slightly aged look, creating a homely, lived-in feel. For the bar area the solid oak Nordic stool was chosen and set off against the sumptuous Chester One sofa, the finished result is a welcoming, homelike location that is equally fitting for business meetings and family dinners.
