The Kings Head, Ongar is a remarkable 17th Century pub, recently added to the collection of venues by the award-wining Oakman Inns & Restaurants. Honouring its time-worn history and the Oakman Inn signature for unique and design-led interiors, the Kings Head emphasises a characteristic and yet modern setting, complete with alfresco dining.

Working once again with leading design company People In Space, Inside Out Contracts supplied both the interior and exterior furnishings for the Kings Head venue. Referencing the historical roots that remain pertinent to the Inn’s identity, dark stained solid wood chairs Bertie, Columbia and Lyon furnish the dining area with supple upholstered seats providing comfort and an interesting mix of styles. Aged brown, caramel and red upholsteries used throughout the interior play on a warm colour scheme that is echoed throughout the bespoke banquette seating.

A broad selection of low and high stools in the form of the Brera, Darwin, Slim Jim and classic Bentwood once again provide a contrastive display of styles, whilst their dark brown frames follow a rustic feel. The exterior of the Kings Head Inn features a monochrome palette, crafting a contemporary edge, which includes the Ypsilon tables and iconic Master chairs in black for a bold look that reflects the Oakman Inns signature for unique character.

This project is one of many by Inside Out Contracts for the Oakman Inns, with each project uniquely characterised by its distinct furniture, crafting a different story for each location.
