Creating a staff dining space that feels every bit as welcoming as the hotel's guest areas was the driving force behind this refurbishment. The aim was to deliver a contemporary environment where guests and staff could relax, catch up over lunch and enjoy a space that feels comfortable, uplifting and built for everyday hospitality.

Furniture design played a central role in bringing the interior scheme to life. Rich ash timber introduces warmth and natural character throughout the canteen, while soft green upholstery adds a fresh, calming contrast that complements the earthy palette. Together, these materials create a space that feels bright, inviting and effortlessly timeless.

The bespoke Carlton Tables anchor the dining area with generous shared surfaces, encouraging people to gather while showcasing the beauty of solid ash craftsmanship. The Carlton L-Shape Banquette makes smart use of the available footprint, increasing seating capacity without compromising on comfort or creating a crowded feel.

A mix of Tuffy Side Chairs, Moseby Side Chairs, Winter Bar Stools and Fred Round Table Bases adds variety across the space while maintaining a cohesive look. Each piece was carefully chosen to support the overall design concept, balancing visual warmth with the durability needed for a busy hotel environment.

The finished space is welcoming, contemporary, and full of character. Warm timber tones, natural green fabrics and thoughtfully selected furniture work together to create an environment people genuinely want to spend time in - showing how considered furniture design can transform everyday hospitality spaces into places that feel as good as they function.
