Restaurant & Bar Design Awards | The Ultimate Summary
The countdown to the 2023 Restaurant and Bar Design Awards has concluded, and the anticipation leading up to the event was palpable. The focus was on the most innovative and imaginative venues worldwide, as they vied for the title of 'The World's Most Creative Spaces'.
Now in its 15th year, the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards has established itself as the most important and influential design competition for food and beverage spaces worldwide.
We are delighted to witness numerous remarkable projects of our clients being selected as finalists for the esteemed Restaurant Bar Design Awards. There has been some tough competition with some outstanding creative restaurant and bar designs, worldwide. Therefore, we are excited to share that this year, four of our projects made it to the shortlist. These projects have been a result of our collaboration with venues, interior designers, and architects. It is an honor to witness the recognition of our diligent efforts and those of our clients. Every project has exemplified exceptional capabilities and collaboration from all members involved at every phase.
Sustainability Shortlist - Viajante87
Viajante87 is an incredible achievement. Sitting on Notting Hill High Street, this basement venue is a truly special space and is an exceptional example of the use of creativity for a small space, in the most sustainable way.
The interior design team created furniture with Inside Out's Design team. The result is exceptional hand-crafted bespoke furniture, made in Great Britain, that fits the venue's unique shape.
Cafe Shortlist - Audrey's
Audrey's is set in such a special location, just off Borough Market and set in an old Victorian loo. If those walls could talk, we are sure that they would have lots of stories to tell. Now a cafe and cocktail bar, Audrey's has some subtle and special pieces of furniture. These include marble table tops with a wooden edging, created especially for this venue by our design team. The fixed counter stools are also unique and give a slightly retro feel to this airy venue.
Hotel Shortlist - Commons Club, Virgin Hotel Edinburgh
The Commons Club is set in the Virgin Hotel, Edinburgh, and is an example of classic elegance with a modern twist. The modern twist is given by the furniture created. In this case, special bespoke tables were created. Just like Cinderella's slipper, these tables were made of glass. The table tops were made of black under-painted glass, set within a brass edge detail.
Multiple Shortlist - F1 Arcade, London
Fast and fun, the F1 arcade in London is bold and bright. Inside Out Contracts provided seating, including the Bamba bar stool for this thrilling, state-of-the-art venue. The Bamba bar stool is striking in its simplicity and is the perfect addition to contemporary spaces as it offers high stability and good comfort.
Special Mention - Entry - Sparrow
Sparrow is extraordinary. Intimate, yet spacious, set over four floors, this is a truly special location set in the heart of Mayfair with chic interior design. Inside Out Contracts provided the loose furniture and worked closely with the designers to create special bespoke furniture items including the beautiful banquette seating that captures a mix of both contemporary and classic design.

On Friday 27th, 2023, the Winners were announced.
Amidst the enchanting realms of culinary magic, two champions emerged victorious in the 2023 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. Cicchetti, nestled in the heart of London, and Luma, a bewitching bar in Adelaide, Australia, claimed the coveted titles of Overall champions. In a grand ceremony at Florattica in London, five regional winners and 37 category winners were honored with trophies, showcasing the pinnacle of innovation in the food and beverage industry.
The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards, the most significant and influential competition of its kind, garnered 1,130 entries from 61 countries. A panel of 40 celebrated figures in design, hospitality, and lifestyle meticulously assessed each entry, selecting only the most exceptional projects to be shortlisted.
Florattica, aglow with the essence of creativity, played host to the year's most anticipated event, as category awards were bestowed, and overall champions were crowned. After 15 years in London, the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards will embark on a new journey to Barcelona for the 2024 edition. As we bid farewell to this year's spectacle, we look forward to the future, where we hope to witness more of our clients' projects shortlisted and victorious in the years to come.
