The Gubi chair has a classic minimal Scandinavian design aesthetic, and also combines innovation, comfort and strength in one piece.
The thin metal legs lend it a modern and light appearance, whilst the unique moulded shell is highly individual and suggests a simplicity which belies its technical ingenuity. This durable chair was the first furniture piece commercially available to utilise the technique of moulding veneers in three-dimensions to create a solid shell in this manner. The 3-D design gives the chair a comfortable seat and sense of lightness. This cutting edge construction process allows a reduction in the thickness of the veneer to half that which would normally be used. This unique chair has also won numerous design awards and is exhibited in the famous Museum of Modern Art in New Yorkas recognition of its innovation.
The Gubi chair is available in an American walnut, oak and black stained beech finish. The front can be upholstered in various fabric qualities, colours and leathers. We can also offer a 5 mm thick seat which is made of interjected moulded HiRek material, also available in a range of different colours.
The metal sleigh-leg base or the four legs version comes in chrome, satin chrome and black painted steel. Furthermore we can offer the Gubi chair with a swivel base made of chrome.
