Virgin Hotel - Shoreditch

When Virgin Hotels announced they were taking over the former Mondrian Hotel in Shoreditch, we knew something special was about to happen. This wasn’t just another refurbishment—it was Virgin’s big London debut, and they wanted to make a bold, creative statement right in the heart of East London.

The transformation of the building at 45 Curtain Road took inspiration from Shoreditch’s gritty-meets-glam vibe. The interiors were completely reimagined to feel playful, stylish, and full of personality—think velvet armchairs, boucle sofas, custom lighting, and rich textures layered across the spaces. Every detail was designed to capture that unmistakable Virgin energy: fun, unexpected, and a little bit cheeky.

Inside Out was proud to be part of this journey, supplying six bespoke furniture pieces tailored specifically for this project. Our in-house design team worked closely on finishes, fabrics, and forms that complemented the overall concept—like the rosewood and maple burr dining tables that bring warmth and character to the lounge areas, or the fully upholstered dining chairs in bold, saturated tones that add a pop of personality.

It’s not just about good looks, though—each piece was built to perform in a busy hospitality setting while still delivering the premium feel that Virgin is known for. The result? A space that’s not only visually striking, but also welcoming and comfortable for guests. We’re thrilled to see our work featured in such a standout project, and to have played a small role in bringing Virgin’s Shoreditch story to life.
