In Focus | Chair Bases
The most common chair base is the 4 leg, but different options are available with different benefits.
4-Leg Base
4 legs is the most commonly seen base and is a standard option. They are easy to lift and generally benefit from being stackable. They are most often used in restaurants and cafes.
Sled base
The back and front legs are connected in a sled style. They are useful for sliding back and forwards without catching and are quite common in workspaces and education. They provide good weight distribution so that they don't get stuck on uneven flooring. Also good for outdoor use on surfaces such as grass.
Cantilever base
The seat is attached to a single continuous leg that joins the chair at one end and forms an 'L' shape. It's an attractive design that is impressively engineered. Often used in workspaces.
